Lesson Terms & ConditionsAt Toccata House Music School, est. 1990 by Olive Powderly, all private 1-to-1 lessons operate on a rolling 4-week block basis. By enrolling, parents and students agree to the following terms:
Lesson Blocks & Payments
- Students are enrolled and charged in blocks of 4 consecutive weeks.
- Your lesson slot is reserved exclusively for you each week, and teachers are scheduled and paid accordingly. Missed classes cannot be refunded.
Missed Lessons
- Lessons missed by students cannot be replaced, rescheduled, refunded, or carried forward.
- This applies regardless of the reason for absence, including holidays, travel, school tours, family events, or illness.
- We kindly ask families to consider personal schedules before confirming enrolment.
Advance Notice
- If you plan to stop lessons temporarily or permanently, we require at least one full term’s (one month in advance) written notice via e-mail or mobile phone.
- If notice is not given, lessons within the current term/block remain payable.
Teacher or School CancellationsLessons will only be cancelled without charge in the following situations:
- Bank Holidays
- School closures
- Teacher illness or unavoidable teacher absence where no cover teacher is available
In these cases, replacement lessons or credits will be arranged.
Attendance CommitmentWhen enrolling in a 4-week lesson block, families are committing to attend and pay for the full block, even if one or more lessons are missed due to personal circumstances.
