Toccata House Music School has been established since 1990 and we are based in 43 Fair Street, Drogheda; Drogheda Grammar School, Mornington Road, Drogheda and Olive Powderly is the Director/Owner of this school.

Olive Powderly started to teach in Crilly School of Music Drogheda in 1984, teaching piano, keyboard and piano accordion. Olive has been teaching now for over 35 years in all instruments and has taught students to university level and beyond. Her ethos is that every child/student progresses at their own level and pace to attain their skills and development of their chosen instrument in a happy and fun environment of education.
Olive and her husband Obinna run Toccata House Music School together.
Olive Powderly is a high qualified musician and a very reputable music educator in Ireland. Olive has the following qualifications:

Olive’s husband Obinna Nathaniel Okonkwo is the co-owner and director of the music school and he is rewarded with MIEI, MIET, among many other qualifications.
Olive started her musical career in Crilly School of Music at 9 years of age on Piano Accordion being taught by Ms. Crilly and then progressing to Piano and Keyboard. Olive took part in may accordion band championships and Céilí Band All Ireland. Olive also won many competitions for accordion in solo competitions for Accordion and was the first person in Drogheda through Crilly School of Music, to attain an Associate Diploma for Keyboard through Victoria College of Music. UK and further diplomas as well.
Olive also attained a BA (Open) through the Open University UK in Music and English and also has diplomas in Humanities and Music as well. Olive is also involved in TEFL qualified Language Schools in Dublin in a managerial position as a Director of Studies/Academic Manager during the summer months and beyond.
Olive is also a member of Feis Ceoil Dublin and the European Piano Teachers Association and is also an examiner with Victoria College of Music UK and travels extensively for the College.
Olive strives to encourage and enlighten students in whether it is Music or English for students to gain the highest levels possible in their fields of education.
Toccata House Music School has fully qualified teachers in all instruments, piano, keyboard, accordion, drums, flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, viola, cello, recorder, traditional Irish fiddle, guitar – classical, acoustic, bass and electric, ukulele, voice coaching in musical theatre and classical. Junior and Leaving Cert music programmes as well.
All our teachers are Garda Vetted and TUSLA certified. We strive to attain the highest marks possible with all students in a friendly and fun learning environment.
